I’ve been athletic my entire life, dating back to when I was five. I played at least one sport each season, and this continued all the way through high school. I’d rank my best sports as football in third, basketball second, and definitely baseball all alone in first place. I’ve had an arm and a glove since little league, and throughout the developmental years I perfected my swing. I went on to play D-1 baseball, and even though I had some AAA offers, I knew they didn’t make squat and I needed to get a degree. Baseball gave me a free education and I took advantage of it with a bachelor’s in business administration, which provided me with the career I have today. One thing I discovered when I entered the career world was men’s softball; I always heard about it, but never wanted to risk injury during my baseball years. After my first game I was hooked, and I’ve been playing it for 17 years now. I’ve been on traveling teams, regional all star teams, you name it, and I love it because it fuels my competitive spirit and there’s nothing better than turning a double play or cranking out a bomb and watching grown men pout like children.

Last season, however, the field started getting a little fuzzy. My eyesight has never been an issue, and even though both of my parents wore glasses I never had to, so I never thought about it affecting me. So after bobbling a couple of grounders I got so down on myself I went in to get my eyes checked. Turns out my vision was deteriorating, and the optometrist called it some crazy word, and I asked her what I could do. She said I would have to either get contacts or have this Lasik Eye Surgery. I didn’t want to start dealing with contacts at 39, so I went home and looked up the surgery she was talking about.

After surfing around the net I found this site about Lasik Eye Surgery, and I have to tell you it was impressive. As I said, I’ve never had vision problems and know nothing about eyewear or surgery, and this site had it all. They have this directory with well over 100 articles on eye surgery, and every question I had was answered before I left. I filled out the form on the homepage, and a week later I was in a waiting room about to have Lasik done.

It was pain free and my vision is incredible, and I’m definitely glad I did it. We’re winding down our fall league right now, and I have to say I had a spectacular ’08 season. Thanks to Lasik, my game is back to the way it always has been: dominant.
